2 Dead In Fiery I-90 Crash
Two men are dead following a one-vehicle collision late Tuesday in Marengo.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Two men are dead following a fiery one-car crash on Interstate 90 in Marengo late Tuesday night. The collision happened just before 11 p.m. on I-90 westbound at milepost 39 in McHenry County, according to Illinois State Police news release.
The driver and passenger in a 2007 black Pontiac were ejected from the vehicle after it went off 1-90 and overturned several times. The men, who have been identified as Harold E. Switzer Jr., 49, and Harold Switzer III, 26, both of Belvidere, both died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the news release.

The vehicle started on fire following the collision.

The crash led to authorities closing the right lane of traffic at about 12 a.m. All lanes were closed briefly at 2 a.m. and the roadway reopened at 5 a.m.
