Algonquin Home Uninhabitable Following Blaze

The fire was reported at a home in the 0 to 100 block of Sunset Lane in Algonquin early Tuesday.

ALGONQUIN, IL — The cause of a fire that left a home on Sunset Lane in Algonquin uninhabitable is being investigated by local police and fire officials.

The Algonquin-Lake In The Hills Fire Protection District responded to the blaze in the 0 to 100 block of Sunset Lane at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday and found smoke and fire coming from a vehicle and the attached garage, according to a news release from the fire protection district.

All occupants in the home, including the family dog, were able to safely get out of the residence before the fire department arrived, and no one was injured in the blaze. Smoke, fire and water damage left the home uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and a damage estimate is not yet available.
