MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- A man accused of sexually assaulting a child over twenty years ago has been sentenced to six years in prison. The six-year prison sentence handed down to Robert J. Libricz, 58, will be served concurrent to an 18-year prison sentence in a separate sex assault case, prosecutors said Friday. In that case, Libricz was convicted in February of committing several acts of sexual penetration and abuse against a female child between 1989 and 1998, during a time when the minor was, during the earlier years of the abuse, under the age of 13, and later on, still under the age of 18.

Libricz pleaded guilty Thursday to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, for committing an act of sexual penetration on a female minor between Feb. 1, 1999 and Feb. 28, 1999. The child was under 13 years old, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.

Libricz will serve his six- and 18-year prison sentences concurrently, which means they will be served at the same time. The sentences were handed down as concurrent, and not consecutive, due to existing legislation at the time of the offenses, prosecutors said.
