Holiday Programs at the Algonquin Area Public Library

'Tis the Season! The Algonquin Area Public Library has special programs and events to celebrate the Holiday Season!

The Algonquin Area Public Library District is celebrating the Holiday Season with many programs at the Library!  Here are some of the upcoming special holiday programs:

 

Holiday Rock on the Fox

Find out what's happening in Algonquin-Lake In The Hillsfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Saturday, December 1 at 4:30 – 6:00 pm.

A community event for all ages at Riverfront Park in Algonquin.  Stop by at 5:00 pm and hear some holiday stories told by one of our Youth Librarians.  There will also be many other activities; Including a community tree lighting, candy can hunt, Santa and holiday music.  Admission is free; donation bins will be available for nonperishable food donations and new, unwrapped toys.  No registration is required to attend.

Marshall Field’s Holiday Windows

Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

Amy Meadows, former director of Windows and Marketing Events for Marshall Fields and Macy’s, provides a sneak peek into the design and execution of the gamed animation windows.

 

A Christmas Carol in 40 Minutes

Monday, December 10 at 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

“A Christmas Carol” in forty minutes? With costumes, music, and sound effects, Ed Dzialo of Rose Productions brings Dickens’ characters to life.  Registration is required to attend this program.  Please register online at www.aapld.org or in the Library.

 

 

Family Holiday Storytime

Tuesday, December 11 at 10 am, Wednesday, December 12 at 10 am and Saturday, December 22 at 10 am.

A special drop-in holiday storytime for families.  Come and ring in the holiday season with a festive assortment of stories, fingerplays and songs.  No registration is required to attend.

 

The Jacobs High School Madrigals

Wednesday, December 12 at 4:45-5:15 pm.

A holiday favorite, The Madrigals will perform holiday songs a capella, medieval and modern, while dress in Elizabethan costume.  Come join us for this traditional favorite!  Registration is required to attend this program.  Please register online at www.aapld.org or in the Library.

 

 

HO HO HO Holiday

Saturday, December 15 at 2-3:30 pm.

For Grades K-1.  Join us as we enjoy stories of the season, make a holiday wreath and play a rousing game of Santa Bingo.  We will also have a Rudolph the Reindeer ring toss and enjoy a cookie treat.  Registration is required to attend this program.  Please register online at www.aapld.org or in the Library.
