McHenry County College to Offer Two Trips to Points of Interest in Chicago

Explore the Field Museum's Stone Age exhibit or browse through the Botanical Garden's Butterfly and Blooms exhibit with McHenry County College's Trips and Tours program.

Explore prehistoric cave art at the Field Museum’s Stone Age exhibit or browse through the Botanical Garden’s Butterfly and Blooms exhibit with two separate day trips offered by McHenry County College’s Trips and Tours program.

The following day trips are accepting registration:

Scenes from the Stone Age trip at the Chicago Field Museum takes place from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12. Visitors will journey into the caverns of Lascaux, to discover the origins of mankind and the decades-old collaboration
between science and art. The cave paintings of Lascaux are the world’s premier
example of prehistoric cave art.

The exhibition features rare stone-age artifacts from the Museum’s collections, a lifelike stone-age family created by sculptor Elisabeth Daynès, as well as videos and interactive features that explain how Paleolithic people lived and how the cave paintings were made. A delicious three-course meal at Tuscany is included followed by a driving tour to see some of Chicago’s magnificent original, colorful murals. Cost is $109. Use course ID: NST S60 012 to register. 

The Chicago Botanical Gardens – Butterflies and Blooms trip features the
Grand Tram Tour, a tasty lunch buffet and tickets to the Butterflies and Blooms
exhibition where visitors can immerse themselves in a habitat filled with
hundreds of live butterflies. Trip takes place on Wednesday, June 19, departing at 9 a.m. and returning at approximately 6:30 p.m. Cost is $99. Use course ID: NST S06 019 to register.
