Deadline Extended for Holiday Lights Recycling at Algonquin Ganek Municipal Center

The holiday lights can be dropped of between Nov. 21 and Jan. 19.

As we begin decorating for the holiday season, you may find some unusable strings of holiday lights with your decorations.

The village of Algonquin, in cooperation with Elgin Recycling, will be offering holiday light recycling November 21 through January 19 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive. The collection period has been extended for those who would like to recycle their holiday lights after this season, according to a village news release.

A container for your unusable or unwanted lights will be available in the Ganek Municipal Center lobby during normal business hours, according to a news release.
