Driver Busted Going 100 MPH In 50 MPH Zone: LITH Police

Lake in the Hills Police Department officers clocked additional patrol hours over the holidays, citing 45 drivers for various violations.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department cited 45 drivers for various violations during a holiday traffic campaign in recent weeks.

Officers pulled on driver over who is accused of driving more than 100 mph in a 50mph zone, according to a news release from the police department. That driver was arrested and charged with speeding more than 35 mph over the speed limit with no auto insurance.

  • 19 citations for drivers accused of not wearing their seatbelts
  • 16 speeding violations
  • 4 uninsured motorist citations
  • 1 cited for an electronics communication device violation
  • 1 citation for a center median violation

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign ran from Dec. 18, 2020, through Jan. 4, 2021. Lake in the Hills Police Department officers clocked 32 additional hours of patrol work with a focus on speeding violations, drunken drivers and proper seat belt compliance.
