Fire Damages Lake In The Hills Apartment
A blaze broke out Thursday afternoon at a first-floor apartment at 501 Autumn Ridge Road in Lake in the Hills.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The cause of an apartment fire that broke out Thursday afternoon in Lake in the Hills is under investigation, fire officials said.
The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was called to the blaze at 501 Autumn Ridge Road at about 1:40 p.m. and found fire and heavy smoke coming from a first-floor apartment, according to a news release from the fire protection district.
The automatic sprinkler system extinguished the blaze, and fire crews searched the apartment but did not find anyone inside. Fire officials say all occupants were able to safely get out on their own.

A damage estimate was not immediately available for the apartment, according to the news release.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
