Former H.S. Baseball Star Must Register As Sex Offender

Kyle J. Morgan, 20, pleaded guilty to felony grooming for his interactions over Snapchat with a 13-year-old girl.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A former starting pitcher for Huntley High School must register as a sex offender for the next 10 years after he pleaded guilty this past week to grooming an underage girl with the purpose of luring the 13-year-old into committing a sexual offense, according to the Northwest Herald. As part of a plea deal, Kyle J. Morgan, 20, was sentenced to two years of probation in exchange for the guilty plea.

Mrogan met the 13-year-old girl over Snapchat and the girl's parents reported the communication between Morgan and the teen to police, according to the article. Posing as the girl, police arranged to meet Morgan at a park in Huntley in July 2018 where he was instead met by officers.

A month prior to his arrest, Morgan helped the Red Raiders advance to the Class 4A state championship game.
