
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL – A 48-year-old Lake in the Hills man critically injured during a house fire Sunday has died. Christopher Laing, of the 0 to 100 block of Newbury Court in Lake in the Hills, died at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford at 2 p.m. on Sunday, authorities said Monday.
Laing and another male were critically injured after a blaze broke out at 10 Newbury Court at about 3:49 a.m. on Sunday, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Fire Department. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found the home fully engulfed in flames.
Two adult males were located outside the home. They were flown by Flight for Life to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The Huntley Fire Protection District responded to the blaze and was able to bring it under control by 4:47 a.m.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Huntley Fire Protection District with assistance
from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. No damage estimate from the fire is currently available, police said.
