Huntley Man Remains Behind Bars In Stabbing
Joshua Doss is charged with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion and violation of an order of protection.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A Huntley man remains behind bars on a $500,000 bail for allegations he stabbed a 37-year-old man in a domestic incident in Carpentersville last week.
Joshua A. Doss, 39, of the 11600 block of Woodcreek South in Huntley, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, armed violence, home invasion with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery-great bodily harm, and violation of an order of protection, according to online court records. He remained in custody at the Kane County Adult Justice Center as of Friday morning.
Doss is accused of entering a home in the 3100 block of Merrywell Court in Carpentersville on Dec. 28 and stabbing a 37-year-old man who he knew, Chris Nelson, chief of staff and communication for the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, told Patch. Authorities say he used a 4-inch knife and stabbed the person twice.

Prosecutors did not indicate how Doss knew the person who was stabbed or the nature of their relationship. Authorities also have not detailed the extent of the victim's injuries.

Doss is next expected in court on Jan. 19 for a pre-trial.
