Lake Barrington Man Connected to Car Burglaries
The 23-year-old is accused of stealing electronics from cars.

A 23-year-old Lake Barrington man faces is accused of burglarizing several cars in recent weeks, authorities said. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Hunter H. Grabowski, of the 500 block of Beacon Drive in Lake Barrington, on Dec. 28 after connecting him to a car burglary in Lake Barrington, which occurred on Dec. 14 in the 28200 block of Harbor Drive, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Following the burglary, deputies identified Grabowski as a possible suspect. Detectives connected Grabowski to the Lake Barrington car burglary as well as several others, police said.
Police searched his home and recovered a purse and a new PlayStation 4 that we’re stolen during the car burglary in Lake Barrington. Authorities learned he had already sold other electronics but detectives were able to retrieve those as well, police said.

Grabowski was arrested on Dec. 28 on a burglary charge.
He remains held in the Lake County Jail on a $30,000 bail. He is next due in court on January 4.

Meanwhile, the sheriff’s office is working with other local police agencies to determine the victims in other car burglaries committed by Grabowski, police said.
As a reminder, to reduce the chance of being the victim of a car burglary, police say you should:
- Always lock your car when it’s left unattended
- Ensure all windows are closed and secured
- Remove or hide all items of value from your car while it’s left unattended
- Consider installing motion-sensor floodlights
- Consider installing exterior home surveillance cameras
- Report suspicious activity to law-enforcement
- If your car is burglarized, report the incident to police
