Lake In The Hills Man In Critical Condition After Struck By Car

Anyone who witnessed the pedestrian being hit is asked to call the Algonquin Police Department.

ALGONQUIN, IL — A 53-year-old Lake in the Hills resident is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the intersection of W. Algonquin Road and Crystal Lake Road on Tuesday, police said. The man was crossing at Algonquin Road around 6:12 p.m., when he was hit by a westbound vehicle, according to police.

The man was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 50-year-old woman from Algonquin, was not injured and showed no signs of impairment, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation by the Algonquin Police Department and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.

The east and westbound lanes of W. Algonquin Rd. were closed to traffic for about three and a half hours while the crash was investigated Tuesday night.
