Lake In The Hills School Deemed Safe Following Threat Thursday: Police
The Lake in the Hills Police Department investigated the threat made at Hannah Elementary School Thursday.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Authorities in Lake in the Hills determined students at an elementary school were safe following a threat made at the school Thursday regarding "potential violence with a weapon."
Hannah Martin Elementary School in Lake in the Hills was placed on a hold in place and teach lockdown Thursday after the anonymous source made the threat, according to a post on the District 158 Facebook page. The Lake in the Hills Police Department searched the building and used K9 officers to conduct a thorough search of each classroom and the school grounds, according to police.
"No threat to safety was found over the course of our investigation," according to the D158 Facebook post.

Students were kept in the building while authorities searched the elementary school. Chesak Elementary School and Marlow Middle School, which are also located at District 158's Square Barn campus, were not impacted by the investigation, according to District 158.
"We understand these situations can cause a degree of stress and uncertainty for our students and families and we appreciate your support as we work to maintain the safest possible learning environment for your child," D158 officials wrote in the Thursday Facebook post.

School officials said any students needing resources and support following Thursday's incident can reach out to their teacher or a building administration. Administrators are also asking students to reach out to an adult at the school if they see anything that poses a potential safety concern.
