LITH PD Hosts Women's Safety Series

The free three-week program will be held in October. Registration is required by Sept. 28.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL -- The Lake in the Hills Police Department will host a free, three-week intensive program in October focused on promoting and addressing threats and safety challenges for women. The classes will be held at the Lake in the Hills Police Department's Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 10, 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 24. Space is limited and pre-registration is required by Sept. 28, according to a news release.

Topics addressed during the program include: social/personal safety, social media safety, domestic and dating violence, sexual assault and stalking, defensive tactics and more.

Priority registration will be given to Lake in the Hills residents but non-residents are also welcome. The classes are meant for females ages 17 years old and older.
