LITH Police Out In Force Through End Of September
In an effort to combat drunken, drug-impaired and distracted driving, Lake in the Hills police are out in force through Sept. 30.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Lake in the Hills police are conducting extra patrols through the end of September, according to a release from the police department. The increased effort is a part of a campaign to keep impaired drivers off the roads.
Federal highway safety funds, administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, are making the campaign possible.
Data from the Centers for Disease Control and prevention says nine people are killed and over 1,000 are injured daily from distracted driving.

"So remember, as we wind down our 2018 summer, make sure you drive sober, watch your speed, buckle up and don't drive and be distracted by your cellphone," police said in the release.
