Man Airlifted After Becoming Trapped Under Skid-Steer Loader

The accident happened Wednesday night on Lundstrom Lane In Kane County.

A 40-year-old man was flown to a suburban hospital after becoming trapped under a Bobcat skid-steer loader Wednesday night. Algonquin-Lake in the Hills firefighters arrived on scene on Lundstrom Lane in Kane County at 7:35 p.m. and found the male victim at the bottom of a hill and trapped under the machine, which had toppled over, according to a news release.

Firefighters initially had trouble accessing the scene due to the wet terrain. Fire crews used extrication equipment and air bags to raise and stabilize the bobcat to safely remove victim, according to the news release.

Once the victim was removed from the vehicle, he was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Trauma Center in Libertyville.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was assisted by Huntley Fire Protection District, Union Fire Protection District, Hebron Fire Protection District and Cary Fire Protection District.
