Man Charged In Algonquin Carjacking
A Carpentersville man is accused of stealing a woman's car outside the Jewel Osco at 1501 Algonquin Road.

ALGONQUIN, IL — An 18-year-old man faces multiple charges after a carjacking on Oct. 18 outside an Algonquin grocery store. Tejontae Williams, of the 0-100 block of Middlesex Drive in Carpentersville, is accused of stealing from the store, and then pushing a woman to the ground in the parking lot and taking her vehicle.
Police said Williams stole more than $300 worth of products from the Jewel Osco at 1501 Algonquin Road.
He then allegedly pushed a 58-year-old woman to the ground and stole her vehicle, police said.

The woman didn't suffer any injuries, police said. Her vehicle was found in Carpentersville shortly after the carjacking.
Williams is charged with retail theft, vehicular hijacking and possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and driving without a license.

Williams is being held at the McHenry County jail on a $150,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear back in court this Thursday.
