Semitrailer Overturns on Algonquin Bypass Ramp

ALGONQUIN, IL -- A semi overturned on the northbound Illinois Route 31 ramp at Algonquin Road Thursday, closing the ramp for two hours, authorities said. The ramp reopened at about noon. Authorities told the Northwest Herald the semi truck driver was likely traveling too fast for conditions when turning from westbound Algonquin Road onto northbound Route 31, causing it to flip on its side.

The collision happened at about 9:56 a.m. The semi truck driver was cited for traveling to fast for conditions, according to the Daily Herald article.
