Man, 27, Killed In Route 47 Crash

A Carpentersville man was killed in the Huntley collision and another person was injured.

HUNTLEY, IL — A 27-year-old Carpentersville man is dead following an early morning crash along Route 47 Monday.

The man, whose name is not yet being released, was driving a 1999 Acura TL north on Route 47 north of Regency Square Parkway at about 5:25 a.m. when his vehicle collided with a southbound 2016 GMC Sierra, according to a statement from the Huntley Police Department.

The driver of the GMC was taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley, authorities said. The extent of his injuries are not immediately known but are not expected to be life-threatening.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Route 47 were closed following the collision. Northbound Route 47 reopened at about 10 a.m. and southbound Route 47 reopened just before 11 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
