Vehicle Crashes Through Door At Anytime Fitness
The collision occurred Saturday morning.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL – No one was hurt when a vehicle crashed through the front door of Anytime Fitness in Lake in the Hills on Saturday. The collision occurred at 7:33 a.m. at the gym, which is located at 9521 Ackman Road, according to a LITH police report. Authorities said a 51-year-old man was in the process of parking when he accidentally pressed on the accelerator, causing the collision, Lake in the Hills police communications coordinator Ashley Eccles told the Northwest Herald.
The vehicle jumped the curb and crashed into the building, according to a post on the Lake in the Hills Anytime Fitness Facebook page.
The gym, which is typically open 24/7, had reduced hours following the crash, according to the Facebook post. Typically, the gym allows members to enter through its front-door security system through the use of a key pad but that system was destroyed in the collision, according to the Northwest Herald. The key fob system was back up and running as of Tuesday and 24/7 service was again being offered, according to a Facebook post.
