Fox fled to Colorado following the killings before being arrested there, police said Monday. She has been charged in McHenry County with four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, as well as aggravated battery and domestic battery charges, in connection with the deaths.
Police say Fox was living at the home with the couple but isn't related to them. Authorities believe Fox was a friend or girlfriend of the couple's son, Algonquin Deputy Chief Ryan Markham told Patch in an email response.

"It has been determined that the son was not involved in this incident," Markham said. "The matter is still under investigation, and I do not have any information regarding what led to the incident at this time."
The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team is assisting with the investigation into the killings. The intentional homicide is the first since 2010 that has happened in Algonquin, Markham said.
