Young Child Flown To Hospital After Falling Out Of Bed

A young child was flown to the hospital after he fell out of a bed at a Wonder Lake home Sunday evening, fire officials said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A young child was flown to the hospital after he fell out of a bed at a Wonder Lake home Sunday evening, fire officials said.

The Wonder Lake Fire Protection District responded around 7:25 p.m. Sunday to the 4400 block of Hilltop Drive in Wonder Lake for a child who fell out of a bed.

Wonder Lake Fire Chief Mike Weber told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that an ambulance arrived within four minutes.

Due to the injuries, the child needed to go to a level 1 trauma center and a LifeNet medical helicopter was requested.

The ambulance transported the child to the landing zone behind Wonder Lake Fire Protection District Station 1 located at 4300 East Wonder Lake Road, Weber said.

The child was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.

Their condition was not available, but it was serious enough to warrant a LifeNet response, Weber added.
