Your Guide To 'DUbliNDEE' Festivities
The Thom McNamee Memorial St. Patrick's Day Parade, a pet parade, Kilted 5K and more will be coming to East and West Dundee this weekend.

A 5K run in kilts, St. Patrick's Day parade and plenty of entertainment will be coming to "DUbliNDEE" this Saturday. The Kilted 5K will kick off at 8:30 a.m., a pet parade will be held at 9:30 a.m., grandstand entertainment will begin at 10 a.m. and the main parade will step off at 11 a.m.
Kilted 5K
The run starts at 8:30 a.m. Be sure to show up in your kilt. For those who have not yet registered, race day registration is available. The start and finis area is located at Lifeline Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, 296 Williams Place in East Dundee. The race route is a straight out and back on the Fox River Trail path. Race day registration ranges from $45 to $65. More information is available here.
Post-Race Festivities
After the Kilted 5K, the grandstand area will be open at 10 a.m. for:

- A pet parade
- Circus acts
- Irish dancers
- Crowning of the Irish queen and princess
- The presentation of the Dublindee grand marshall
- Corned beef competition

Parade Info
This year's Thom McNamee Memorial St. Patrick's Day Parade will step off at 11 a.m. and march south from Wenholz Avenue and Water Street and then east on Barrington Avenue and then south on River Street, ending at Jackson Street. The grandstand will be located on River Street just south of Barrington Avenue in front of the East Dundee Depot.
An Irish song will be performed at 11 a.m. and as the parade approaches the grandstand, veterans will present colors and the national anthem, according to the Dundee St. Patrick's Day website.

Those interested in voting for the "fan favorite" can do so by voting on Facebook. Parade entries will also be awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes, for "Best in Community" and businesses.
Fireworks
Area residents will have to wait another week for the DUbliNDEE fireworks. They will be shot off over the Fox River and will kick off with the fabulous Dundee Scottish Bagpipes on either end of the bridge. Parking bans will be in effect, so get there early.
