2 Gas Station Armed Robberies Occur Less Than 24 Hours Apart
This also was the 2nd time one of the locations had been held up at knifepoint in about two weeks.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Two Mobil gas stations in the village reported armed robberies last week, and Arlington Heights police are investigating the incidents, according to the Arlington Heights Post.
The first armed robbery occurred at about 3:41 a.m. Oct. 3o at the station and convenience store location at 3005 E. Rand Road, the report stated. An unidentified man demanded money while pointing a gun at the clerk, then ran off with an undisclosed amount, the report added.
Police said the man was between 25 to 30 years old, and he was wearing a gray coat, a black snow cap, a plaid scarf over his face, navy blue sweat pants and gloves, the Post reports.

On Oct. 31, a similar incident happened at the Mobil station at about 12:49 a.m. at 1880 S. Arlington Heights Road. This time, however, an unidentified man dressed in black and wearing a black mask used a knife instead of a gun, according to the report. The man also was carrying a red backpack during the robbery, the report added.

This is the second time in about two weeks that someone has used a knife to rob the South Arlington Heights Road station. In that incident, which was Oct. 18, the suspect also was wearing black clothing and a black mask.
No one was hurt during any of the hold ups.
