4 Kia Cars Stolen At 3 Locations: Arlington Heights PD Blotter
In each incident, the car was stolen overnight, according to police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
ARRESTS

- Patricia A. Adkins, 38, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 10:42 a.m. July 26, in the 1000 block of W. Sigwalt Street. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Sept. 5 was assigned.
- Campbell Thierry Lu Dunham, 24, is accused of DUI alcohol, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 12:29 a.m. July 27, in the 2100 block of S. Arlington Heights Road. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of Aug. 16 was assigned.
- Arturo Neri Melquiades, 22, is accused of DUI alcohol, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 2:58 a.m. July 24, at Rand and Hintz roads. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Aug. 16 was assigned.
BATTERY
Nathan Guo, 25, is accused of two counts of battery, and was arrested at 12:32 p.m. July 24, at Northwest Community Hospital, 901 W. Kirchoff Road. A court date of Aug. 9 was assigned.

An employee at Guitar Center, 2375 S. Arlington Heights Road, reported at 11:45 a.m. July 10, someone stole an Ibanez green and black electric guitar valued at $950. The subject was described as a white male, 30–40 years of age, wearing an oversized multicolored short-sleeved button down, baggy grey track pants, black shoes, glasses, and black Titleist baseball hat.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
A citizen reported that between July 12 and July 13, someone caused damage to the rear passenger tire of her 2006 Chrysler, causing it to go flat, while it was parked in the 200 block of N. Dunton Avenue.
THEFT
- An employee reported that between July 11 and July 13, someone stole two donation boxes located in the business parking lots at Starbucks (115 W. Rand Road) and Trader Joe's (17 W. Rand Road). The value of the donation boxes was approximately $2,500.
- A citizen reported that between 9 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. July 14, someone stole a Lexus key fob from her purse in the 3400 block of N. Arlington Heights Road.
- A gym member at XSport Fitness, 960 W. Dundee Road, called police to report that between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. July 16, he placed his personal property in an unsecured locker. Upon returning, he noticed his wallet was missing. The wallet was located in a nearby trash can, but $100 cash was missing.
- A citizen reported that during the overnight hours of July 17, someone stole her purple Huffy Cranbrook Women's Beach Cruiser bicycle from the stairwell at a home in the 500 block of E. Seegers Road. The bicycle was valued at approximately $200.
- A citizen reported at 12:15 p.m. July 19, someone stole his black and blue Trek bicycle, valued at $550, from the entrance by the pool at Camelot Park, 1005 E. Suffield Drive. After a review of surveillance video, the suspect is described as a male with short dark hair in his late teens, wearing a white tank top and dark shorts. The suspect arrived on a red and black Schwinn bicycle.
BURGLARY
An employee at a business in the 1700 block of E. Central Road reported that during the overnight hours of July 15, two unknown subjects broke a window to gain access to the business and subsequently stole approximately $3,000 worth of merchandise and $400 cash. The subjects were described as teenage males, skinny build, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, face masks and gloves.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
- A resident in the 600 block of W. Park Street reported at 2 a.m. July 16, a group of juveniles pounded on her garage door, causing damage.
- A resident in the 400 block of S. Fernandez Avenue called police at 12:30 a.m. July 21, to report a group of unknown juveniles damaged his storm door and garage door. The damage was valued at $2,500.
- A citizen called police at 8:47 p.m. July 22, to report a group of people damaged the storm door, front door and door frame of his car by repeatedly kicking it in the 500 block of N. Dunton Avenue. The cost to repair the damage was unknown at the time of the report.
STOLEN AUTO
- A citizen called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 18, someone stole their 2012 and 2013 Kia Rios from a parking lot in the 4200 block of N. Bloomington Avenue.
- A citizen reported at 3:57 a.m. July 19, someone broke a window on a 2021 Kia Forte parked in a parking lot in the 500 block of W. Rand Road and proceeded to steal the car.
- A citizen called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 19, someone stole his 2021 Kia Rio from a parking lot in the 2700 block of N. Buffalo Grove Road.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
- A resident in the 2000 block of N. Evergreen Terrace reported that during the overnight hours of July 20, someone entered his unlocked 2014 GMC and stole his wallet. The subject then proceeded to make unauthorized purchases with the victim’s credit cards.
- A resident in the 1300 block of Eton Drive called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 20, someone entered his 2021 Nissan and stole his laptop, valued at approximately $3,000.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
A resident in the 600 block of Happfield Drive reported that during the overnight hours of July 21, someone stole the catalytic converter off his 2013 Chrysler. The cost to replace the catalytic converter was unknown at the time of the report.
