Arlington Heights Teen Guilty of Two Attempted Armed Robberies
Julio Ponce-Patino pleaded guilty to the two attempted armed robberies and was sentenced to four years in jail.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An 18-year-old Arlington Heights teen was sentenced to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to two attempted armed robberies earlier this year, according to The Daily Herald.
In exchange of Julio Ponce-Patino, of the 2200 block of Lake Cook Road, pleading guilty for two attempted armed robberies of women in Arlington Heights, he was sentenced to four years in prison. Ponce-Patino must complete at least 50 percent of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.
Ponce-Patino was accused of holding two women at knife-point on two different occasions.

He attempted to rob the first woman at knife-point in the 1400 block of West Rand Road on Feb. 27, 2016.
He then held a second woman at knife-point in the 700 block of West Rand Road on Feb. 29. During the second attempt, Ponce-Patino demanded the woman give him the keys to her vehicle, according to police. He was then scared off and fled on foot when the woman started screaming.
