Duo Steals Cosmetics From Walgreens: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

The two men fled the area in a white Hyundai Sonata, according to police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS

NEGLECT OF LONG TERM CARE RESIDENT

Nick M. Bobbitt, 50, is accused of two counts of neglect of a long term care resident, and was arrested at 3:23 p.m. Aug. 14, in the 800 block of W. Oakton Street. Bond was set at $50,000 and a court date of Sept. 8 was assigned.

BATTERY

Ravilya Gafurova, 35, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 12, at Northwest Community Hospital, 800 W. Central Road. A court date of Sept. 12 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Bodhinath Kanike, 46, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 4:12 a.m. Aug. 13, at W. Palatine Road and Route 53. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of Sept. 12 was assigned.
  • Batsaikhan Tamir, 58, is accused of DUI alcohol, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 12:12 a.m. Aug. 18, at Palatine and Wolf roads, Wheeling. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of Sept. 19 was assigned.

UNCONSCIONABLE AGREEMENT

Tom Miller, 34, had an in-state warrant for unconscionable agreement ($4,000-$10,000), and was arrested at 4:06 p.m. Aug. 17, in the 100 block of Bobby Lane, Mount Prospect. Bond was set at $15,000.

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

Cesar A. Sanchez, 27, had an in-state warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 9:56 p.m. Aug. 14, in the 900 block of Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of Aug. 31 was assigned.

THEFT

Louis Watson III, 33, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 2:01 p.m. Aug. 16, at Lowe's Home Store, 2121 Euclid Ave., Rolling Meadows. Bond was set at $30,000 and a court date of Sept. 8 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

An employee at Walgreens, 1000 E. Northwest Highway, reported at 7 p.m. Aug. 7, two unknown subjects stole an unknown number of cosmetics and fled the area in a white Hyundai Sonata. Suspect one is described as a male, in his 30s, wearing a black hat, white surgical mask, white t-shirt, tan arm sleeve, blue ripped jeans and black shoes. Suspect two is described as a male, 25-30 years old, wearing a white surgical mask, white t-shirt, grey shorts and black shoes.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A resident in the 1700 block of E. Crabtree Drive called police at 1 a.m. Aug. 9, to report seeing someone pull the door handles on his vehicles parked in the driveway. The subject was wearing pants with reflector strips on the sides and a dark hooded zip up sweatshirt.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 1700 block of E. Crabtree Drive called police on Aug. 9 to report that between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., someone entered his unlocked Chevrolet and rummaged through the interior.

STOLEN AUTO

A citizen reported that between Aug 4 and Aug. 9, someone stole his 2015 Volvo semi-truck and trailer at Arlington Heights and Seegers roads.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A citizen reported that during the overnight hours of Aug. 9, someone entered his Honda, parked in the 2500 block of Hunter Drive. An iPhone 12, valued at $600, and a pair of sunglasses, valued at $200, were stolen.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A citizen called police to report that between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Aug. 9, a small fire had been set on a basketball court at Hasbrook Park, 333 W. Maude Ave. It appears the fire was deliberately set. The cost of the damage was unknown.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

A citizen reported at 1:41 a.m. Aug. 9, someone stole the catalytic converter off the company's 2012 Toyota at Lifeway Mobility, 210 W. Campus Drive. The suspects arrived in a white sedan. Three subjects exit the vehicle, proceed to jack up the Toyota and remove the catalytic converter. All three subjects were wearing all black clothing. The cost to replace the catalytic converter was estimated at $2,000.
