ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER

Timothy J. Leszynski, 36, is accused of resisting a peace officer, obstructing identification, had an in-state warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 12:41 a.m. Oct. 19, in the 2200 block of S. Crambourne Way. A court date of Nov. 17 was assigned.

Alexander Shatrov, 46, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 35+mph over the speed limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 3:05 a.m. Oct. 16, at E. Rand and E. Palatine roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 17.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A resident in the 0-10 block of S. Dryden Place reported that between Oct. 6 and Oct. 10, someone stole two Amazon packages, valued at $445, from her apartment building front entrance.
  • A customer at XSport Fitness, 960 W. Dundee Road, reported that between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Oct. 14, someone stole credit cards from his wallet, which was located in a secure locker. The subject subsequently used the credit cards to make unauthorized purchases.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A resident in the 400 block of S. Cleveland Avenue called police to report that during the overnight hours of Oct. 11, someone slashed the rear passenger tire on her gray Mercury. The cost to replace the tire was estimated at $200.
  • A resident in the 2700 block of N. Windsor Drive reported that during the overnight hours of Oct. 12, someone damaged her mailbox by throwing a pumpkin at it. The cost to replace the mailbox was unknown at the time of the report.

VANDALISM

A homeowner in the 400 block of S. Windsor Drive reported at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 13, someone had egged her residence.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee at Dick's Sporting Goods, 401 E. Palatine Road, reported Oct. 14 that a male and a female had stolen $2,040 worth of merchandise.

BURGLARY

Police responded to Sports Outlet Express, 386 E. Golf Road, at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 14, for an activated alarm and discovered two men had shattered a window and made entry into the business. One subject was wearing dark clothing and a puffy zip up jacket. The other subject was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The subject stole approximately $200.

THEFT OF SERVICES

An employee at Chili's, 640 E. Rand Road, reported at 5 p.m. Oct. 15, someone ordered $120 worth of food and left without paying. The man was with an infant and two female children under six years old. They were seen leaving in a gray or black SUV with Wisconsin registration
