GoFundMe Set Up To Cover Funeral Expenses For Schaumburg Man

The 51-year-old died Monday following a two-car accident near Woodfield Mall.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A GoFundMe has been set up to cover the funeral expenses for the family of a Schaumburg man killed in a car crash earlier this week. Cary Aiello, 51, died from injuries sustained in a two-car accident Monday afternoon on West Frontage and Woodfield roads, near the Woodfield Mall.

Aiello was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Amara Mesnard, organizer of the campaign, is hoping to raise $4,000 to offset funeral expenses for Aiello's family. As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $2,136 in less than a day.

"Cary Aiello was a loving son, father, brother, friend and will continue to watch over those he loved," the GoFundMe reads. "His family would greatly appreciate any contribution towards putting him to Rest In Peace."

Schaumburg police said the driver of the other car involved, a 38-year-old man from Bartlett, was taken by the Schaumburg Fire Department to AMITA Health Alexian Borthers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village in stable condition.
