Obscene Graffiti Discovered At Fire Training Academy: Blotter

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. - An unknown person damaged the wall of the Fire Training Academy, 3702 N Kennicott Ave. at 12:16 p.m. Sept. 4 by using spray paint to write obscene language. The cost to repair the damage is unknown.
- An unknown male damaged and made forcible entry into a mailbox at 2 p.m. Sept. 6 at Countryside Chapel, 916 E Hintz Road. The male used a tool to pry open the mailbox and gain entry. The man is further described as white, approximately 5-foot-11 with a slender build, a short beard and mustache, and wearing a white baseball cap, an olive green long sleeved shirt with uniform style patches on it, blue jeans, and white gym shoes. The man was last seen leaving the area in a black Ford Expedition with an unknown license plate. The contents taken from the mailbox are under investigation at this time.
THEFT
- An unknown person unlawfully took a person's wallet from a tabletop between 7-9:45 p.m. Sept. 4 at Carlos Y Carlos, 27 W Campbell Street. The customer had left the wallet behind mistakenly. The wallet was name brand and valued at approximately $1,000. Contained in the wallet was around $300 in currency, various credit and identification cards.
- An unknown person took a lawn from the front yard during the overnight hours of Sept. 5 in the 1400 block of W Elm Street. The approximate value of the sign is unknown.
- An unknown person damaged lawn signs during the overnight hours of Sept. 5 in the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of N Dunton Avenue. The approximate value of the signs is unknown.
- An unknown female took a cell phone belonging to a person after the person left the cell phone unattended while trying on clothes between 4-5 p.m. Sept. 4 at Burlington Coat Factory 30 W Rand Road. The female is described as Hispanic, approximately 40-50 years old, with shoulder-length dark hair. The approximate value of the cell phone is unknown.
