Rep. Casten Hosting Inflation Town Hall On Saturday In Palatine
The event at village hall will focus on the $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act, according to organizers.

PALATINE, IL — With the $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act expected to soon head to President Joe Biden's desk for passage, U.S. Rep. Sean Casten (IL-3), of Downers Grove, wants to talk to local residents about what the climate, health care and tax bill is.
The 755-page bill, which passed in the United States Senate on Sunday, will soon be voted on in the House before Biden is expected to sign off on it. Casten is hosting an in-person town hall on the legislation at noon Saturday at Palatine Village Hall, 200 E. Wood St., according to a news release. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Organizers said the town hall will focus on how the Inflation Reduction Act "helps address the climate crisis and lowers health care costs for families." Casten will be taking questions from constituents.

Calling the Inflation Reduction Act "a historic investment in health care, climate change, and more," Casten also said in the news release that the legislation:
- Caps seniors’ out-of-pocket spending for prescription drugs at $2000 per year.
- Saves 13 million Americans, covered under the Affordable Care Act $800 per year on their health insurance premiums.
- Addresses inflation by lowering the deficit and lowering costs for families.
- Makes the largest investment in United States history to address climate change.
- Pays for all this by establishing a minimum corporate tax so that our richest corporations start to pay their fair share.
