ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

Alexis Ariza, 19, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 5:35 p.m. May 10, in the 1500 block of Woods Drive. Bond was set at $20,000 and a court date of June 9 was assigned.

  • Spiridon Kokkinos, 43, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 26-34 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 3:40 a.m. May 6, at Evergreen Avenue and Palatine Road. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of June 22 was assigned.
  • Justin B. Lowe, 35, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 2 a.m. May 5, at Arlington Heights Road and Fairview Street. Bond was set at $1,000 and a court date of June 2 was assigned.

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

  • Pranav Krishnan, 32, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, is accused of driving on a revoked license, and was arrested at 11:57 p.m. May 9, in the 1000 block of N. Arlington Heights Road. Bond was set at $2,500 and a court date of June 23 was assigned.
  • Russell J. Rogers, 38, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 2:30 a.m. May 10, at the Evergreen Parking Garage 33 S. Evergreen. Bond was set at $5,000.

BURGLARY

  • Thomas J. McGrath, 52, is accused of burglary, and was arrested at 12:41 p.m. May 7, in the 1400 block of E. Hintz Road. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of June 2 was assigned.
  • Eduardo Miguel Sierra, 45, is accused of burglary, and was arrested at 12:41 p.m. May 7, in the 1400 block of E. Hintz Road. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of June 2 was assigned.

RECKLESS DRIVING

Peyton Glenn Reno, 18, is accused of reckless driving, and was arrested at 9:09 p.m. May 6, at E. Palatine Road and N. Windsor Drive. Bond was set at $2,500 and a court date of June 8 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS OR ACCESSORIES

  • A citizen reported that between May 1 and May 2, someone stole the four wheels off her 2022 Honda in the 4200 block of N. Bloomington Avenue. The estimated cost to replace the wheels was $2,500.
  • A resident in the 4100 block of N. Bloomington Avenue reported that between May 4 and May 5, someone stole the catalytic converter off his 2013 Ford pick-up truck. The cost to replace the catalytic converter was unknown.

THEFT

  • A customer at Jewel, 440 E. Rand Road, called police at 2:58 p.m. May 2, to report he placed his black Apple iPhone down next to the bags while using the self-checkout, and forgot to grab it before leaving. Video surveillance showed a subject take the victim’s phone. The subject is described having short black hair, beard, wearing a white long sleeve jacket with a black stripe down the arm, white pants with a black stripe down the leg and white shoes.
  • A member at LA Fitness, 345 E. Palatine Road, reported that between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. May 5, that they had secured their personal belongings in a locker with a padlock. Upon returning to their locker, both victims observed the padlocks were cut and noticed cash was stolen.

SUSPICIOUS NOISE

A person called police at 8:50 p.m. May 2, to report hearing what sounded like several gunshots in the area of the 2400 block of Cedar Glenn Drive. Officers checked the area and did not find anything suggesting a gun was fired.

HOME INVASION

A resident in the 500 block of N. Walnut Avenue reported at 6:40 a.m. May 3, someone removed a window screen, opened the window and began crawling through in attempt to enter his apartment. The victim saw the subject struggling to crawl through the window, at which point the victim shouted at the subject. The subject retreated and fled eastbound. The subject is described as a man between 25 and 30 years of age, wearing a camouflaged hooded sweatshirt and low hanging blue jeans.

BURGLARY

A citizen called police to report that between May 6 and May 7, someone broke into the storage shed and proceeded to break items as well as throw items onto the field at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St.
