Woman, Dog Die After Being Struck By Car In Rolling Meadows: Police
The 82-year-old woman was walking the dog along Kirchoff Road Friday, according to police.
ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — An 82-year-old Rolling Meadows woman and her dog were killed Friday after being struck by a car in the 2100 block of Kirchoff Road. Police said the incident occurred at around 4:45 p.m.
According to police, the woman was walking her dog when the pair were struck by a 2012 Toyota Prius traveling in the westbound lanes of Kirchoff Road. Officers and paramedics rendered aid to the woman when they found her in the road. She was rushed to Northwest Community Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said a Good Samaritan took the injured dog to a local animal hospital, but the animal did not survive.

The 45-year-old driver of the Toyota Prius, a resident of Arlington Heights, and a juvenile passenger were not injured in the incident.
The crash is currently being investigated by the Rolling Meadows Police Department and assisted by the Major Crimes Assistance Team’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
