Arrest Made In January Shooting That Killed Oswego Resident: Aurora PD
The 46-year-old woman's domestic partner was arrested in connection to the case and charged with first-degree murder, officials said.

AURORA, IL — Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the Jan. 13 shooting that resulted in the death of a 46-year-old Oswego resident.
Travares Mitchell, 49, was arrested and charged with four counts of first-degree murder after police say he fatally shot Serhonda Burnett, his domestic partner, officials said Tuesday.
Aurora officers responded that afternoon to the area near Prairie Street and Woodlawn Avenue after receiving 911 calls about a car crash and shots fired. At the scene, police found Serhonda Burnett suffering from gunshot wounds in a car, Patch reported. She was the sole person in the car.

Mitchell is also facing charges of armed habitual criminal and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, both felonies. Officials obtained a warrant for Mitchell's arrest on Feb. 21, and he was taken into custody on March 6 in Orlando, Florida.
The Aurora resident is currently being held at the Kane County jail.
