Prosecutors dropped several charges, including criminal sexual assault of a victim unable to consent, in exchange for DiMaio’s guilty plea in May, according to a report by the Daily Herald.
"Mr. DiMaio preyed on this child, convincing the child that he was a teenager when in truth he was a 31-year-old, married child predator," Kane County State’s Attorney Joe McMahon said in the release. "It is difficult to fathom the effort he went to to have sex with a child, grooming the child online and driving to the Chicago area from south Florida."

DiMaio served two years and three months — half of his sentence — at the Kane County Adult Justice Center before his sentencing Friday. He could soon be released as he can reduce his sentence by half for good behavior under state law. DiMaio must register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life, prosecutors said.
