Grill Fire Destroys Aurora Residents' West Side Home
A grill fire caused about $150,000 in damage at a home on Aurora's west side, according to fire officials.

AURORA, IL — Two Aurora residents lost their home after a fire started inside a grill on their back deck, according to fire officials. Aurora firefighters called on the afternoon of June 27 to a single-story home in the 2500 block of Westminster Lane and found the fire had moved from the grill to the back of the house, officials said.
More than two dozen firefighters put out the flames, but not before the house was destroyed. Officials estimated the fire caused $150,000 in damage, leaving the home uninhabitable.
Neither resident was injured in the fire, but one firefighter was treated at a local hospital for heat-related illness, officials said.
