AURORA, IL — The Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity took a giant step toward putting two Aurora families into homes earlier this month when volunteers raised the walls on a Grove Street duplex. Despite a global pandemic, the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity started the construction project on schedule.

Fourteen construction professionals, including volunteers from Sosa Plumbing , raised and braced the new home’s walls in about 40 minutes, Habitat for Humanity funds coordinator Barbara Zegiel said in a news release. Ezechiel Nibitanga also got his hands dirty to help build the home where he will live with his wife and son after the family immigrated from Burundi, the release states.

“They do a great job; they’re still working; they’re still here for us,” Nibitanga said. “Thank you for your help.”
