Mother Tried To Kidnap Son From Ex’s Home After Break-In: Sheriff
Police allege a California woman forced her way into a home in unincorporated Aurora Township and attacked her son's father and aunt.

AURORA TOWNSHIP, IL — A California woman is facing a slew of felony charges after she tried to kidnap her son from his father’s home in Aurora Township, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
Angela LaGrone, 50, was arrested Monday and charged with more than a dozen felonies, including six counts of home invasion, four counts of aggravated battery and a single count of attempted aggravated kidnapping, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office. She also faces three felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, the release states.

Police said LaGrone forced her way into the home of her son’s father in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue in unincorporated Aurora Township. Once inside, LaGrone attacked the man’s 67-year-old sister, before hitting both with a baseball bat, according to a police report. The 46-year-old man also suffered cuts to his head when LaGrone attacked him with a knife during the struggle, police said.
LaGrone was also armed with a handgun, but the man was able to get it out of her hands before she could use it, sheriffs said. LaGrone and the male resident were both transported to Rush Copley Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries, the release states.

Aurora Man Injured In Gang-Related Shooting: Police
LaGrone is being held at the Kane County Adult Justice Center without bail, according to Kane County court records. She is due to appear in court Wednesday morning.
