New Principal Appointed At Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy
He brings nearly three decades of experience in education, science, mathematics, engineering education, and innovation to the role.

AURORA, IL — The East Aurora School District 131 Board of Education approved the appointment of Anthony Holub as the next principal of Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy during its March 16, 2026 Board of Education meeting. Holub will officially begin his role on July 1, 2026.
Holub brings nearly three decades of experience in education, with a career rooted in science, mathematics, engineering education, and innovative leadership. He currently serves as Director of Schools – STEAM for Oswego Community Unit School District 308, where he has led districtwide initiatives to expand science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics learning opportunities for students and staff.

“We are excited to bring Mr. Holub forward as part of East Aurora’s leadership team as Principal at Fred Rogers Magnet Academy,” said Dr. Robert Halverson, Superintendent of East Aurora School District 131. “His passion for STEAM education and proven commitment to student development will be an incredible asset to our district and community.”
Holub’s career began in the classroom, where he taught physics and Project Lead the Way engineering courses for many years. During that time, he helped develop highly successful engineering pathways and designed engaging project-based learning experiences that connected classroom learning to real-world problem solving. His impact on students was widely recognized, earning him the distinction of Most Influential Educator from students ten times over a decade.

He later served as Science Department Chair at Oswego High School, where he led curriculum renewal efforts, coordinated professional development, and managed science program resources to enhance student engagement and achievement. In his current district leadership role, Holub has helped launch districtwide makerspaces, expanded access to coding and design technology, and provided instructional coaching to integrate tools such as 3D printing and CAD modeling into classroom learning.
Holub also maintains strong connections with the broader STEM community through his work as a STEM Outreach Associate with Argonne National Laboratory. In that role, he collaborates on hands-on learning opportunities including autonomous vehicle design camps and STEM events that connect families and students with real-world scientific innovation.
“I’m very excited to serve so many wonderful families, community members, staff and students. What really stood out to me while getting to know East Aurora is the people,” said Holub. “STEM is a very strong passion of mine and this is a dream job for me. I can’t wait to get to know the staff at Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy. We’re going to do great things together and impact the entire East Aurora community.”
Holub holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Physics from North Central College and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Governors State University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational from Concordia University Chicago.
