The village will hold a document destruction in the Metra lot.
SWANCC:On Saturday, October 26th, the Village of Barrington will host a Document Destruction Event at the Metra Lot, Wool Street and Klingenburg, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents from Barrington and other SWANCC communities are eligible to participate. About Paper:
Workers will remove the paper documents while residents stay in their vehicles. Paper is cross-shredded on site and will be recycled at a mill to make new paper products. Only sensitive documents are accepted, that can include medical forms, bank statements, personal files and retired tax forms. There is a limit of six (6) file boxes or paper bags per vehicle, and plastic & metal clips or binders must be removed.

DO NOT bring paper in plastic bags. Plastic is a contaminant, as are photos, slides, and any non-paper item. DO NOT include magazines, greeting cards or newspapers, as these can be recycled curbside.
“SWANCC provides a variety of Special Material Programs to assist its residents with the task of recycling banned electronics and other materials that are potentially harmful or have recoverability, so they can be managed properly and made into new products when possible,” stated Mary Allen, SWANCC Recycling and Education Director.
