Barrington’s White House has hit its fund-raising goal of $6.8 million after more than three years of fundraising and 350 donations from Barrington-area residents, the Daily Herald reports. The funds will fully pay for renovations of 118-year-old former home in downtown Barrington into a community center.

The White House now serves as a cultural center for concerts and classes, a meeting place for corporations and non-profits and can be rented out for weddings and other special events.
