Cheerleaders Have Great Success Inaugural Season

The 2012 achievements of the Epic All Stars Competitive Cheer teams.

The Epic All Stars Competitive Cheer team ended their inaugural season recently, taking home a Junior Level 4 first place trophy, Division Champion banner, Grand Champion banner and the Sportsmanship Award from the Xtreme Spirit Championships. It was a fitting end to a season highlighted by awards for:

●      Grand Champs, Division Champs, Level 3 Champs, Best Jumps and 1st Place at Champion Spirit Group Cheer for the Cure

●      1st Place at CCE Snow Ball Blast

The Epic Recreational Cheer team is having an impressive season as well. The squad is currently undefeated and has two National competitions remaining. They achieved the following:

●      1st place at Xtreme Spirit Mardi Gras Classic

●      1st place at Xtreme Spirit Chicago Area Championship

●      1st place at Champion Spirit Group Super Nationals

●      1st Place at Champion Spirit Group Windy City Championships

Organized through the Barrington Park District and directed by Patty DiMonte, Epic All Stars competitive cheer competes with all star cheer teams from across the country. The team consists of 22 girls from the Barrington and surrounding areas and range in age from 4th grade to 9th grade. Epic Recreational Cheer competes with both Recreational and All Star Recreational teams.  The 21 girls on this team are in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades.

“I couldn’t be happier with the work ethic, effort, and sheer energy the teams brought to each and every practice and competition,” says Coach Patty DiMonte. “We made some great strides this season, and I can’t wait for next season.”

As part of the growth plan for Barrington Park District’s emerging Epic Cheerleading program, competitive team options will be expanding next season. For 2012-13,  Epic will have four competitive teams coached by USASF-certified coaches. They will compete at the following levels:

●      Epic Recreational Mini - Grades 1, 2, and 3 - No prerequisites

●      Epic Recreational Youth - Grades 4, 5, and 6- No prerequisites

●      Epic Recreational Junior - Grades 7, 8, and 9- No prerequisites

●      Epic All Stars -Level Four -Grades 5 through 9 - By instructor approval
