Congressman Krishnamoorthi Press Release

Congressman Krishnamoorthi And NASA Robotics Engineer To Speak With Illinois High School, Middle School Students About Mars Rover Landing

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Tomorrow, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) and NASA robotics engineer Mr. Mieszko Salamon will hold a zoom fireside chat and take questions from area students. Rep. Krishnamoorthi, a former engineer who studied mechanical engineering at Princeton University, will ask Salamon, a former resident of the Chicago area, about his journey to NASA and his time working on the Perseverance Rover that landed on Mars in February 2021.

“I was once a kid from Peoria who wanted to become an engineer, and being able to listen and learn from someone like Mieszko about his journey as a NASA robotics engineer would have been incredibly motivating,” said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. “Two of my children attend the schools watching tomorrow, and I know they and their classmates will be truly inspired by the stories that Mieszko has to tell.”
