Coroner IDs Woman Killed By Freight Train In Barrington: UPDATE

The coroner has ruled the 49-year-old Elk Grove Village woman committed suicide.

BARRINGTON, IL -- A 49-year-old Elk Grove Village woman hit and killed by a Canadian National freight train in Barrington last week has been identified as Svetlana Petrovska, Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper told Patch Monday. Cooper said the cause of death for Petrovska has been ruled a suicide. The incident occurred at about 2:38 a.m. on Thursday at the Route 14 train crossing in Barrington, according to a Facebook post from the village of Barrington.

The accident caused major delays along the Metra northwest line on Thursday.
