Elderly Man Who Fell Into Lake Barrington Has Died
The man lost his balance while boating and fell into the lake Friday morning. He was pronounced dead Saturday at a hospital.

A 73-year-old man died at a local hospital over the weekend after he fell into Lake Barrington Friday morning and was underwater for 10 minutes before rescue personnel were able to pull him from the lake.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department was called to Lake Barrington at about 10:28 a.m. for a report of someone struggling in the water. A preliminary investigation shows the 73-year-old Lake Barrington man was boating when he lost his balance and fell into the water, according to a Lake County Sheriff's Office press release.
The man was not wearing a flotation device and wasn’t able to stay afloat, according to the news release The Wauconda Fire District launched a boat and was able to remove the man from the water.

The man was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington in critical condition where he was pronounced dead on Saturday.
Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives are on the scene investigating the incident.
