Infant Killed, 6 Injured in Barrington Hills Crash

The crash happened Thursday evening in Barrington Hills.

A five-month-old infant was killed Thursday evening in a five vehicle crash crash in Barrington Hills.

The crash happened at Route 25 and Silverstone Drive just before 7 p.m. on Thursday.

A preliminary investigation has revealed a 2010 Dodge Journey collided with a 2001 Ford pick up truck in the intersection. That crash lead to a second collision involving three vehicles, according to a press release from the Barrington Hills Police Department.

The driver of the 2010 Dodge Journey, a 32-year-old Carpentersville woman, was taken to Sherman Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The infant was in her vehicle and was also taken to Sherman where she was later pronounced dead.

Two children in the Dodge, an eight-year-old and 13-year-old, were taken to St. Alexius Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford pick up truck was taken to St. Joseph Hospital and treated and released.

Two other drivers involved in the crash were also taken to local hospitals, according to the news release. They were both treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
