Join Durty Nellie's on the Road to Their Reopening and Comeback

On Friday, January 25, 2019, a fire occurred at iconic Durty Nellie's, located in downtown Palatine since 1974. The main pub, band room and mezzanine are expected to open by the end of March, and the kitchen - which sustained the majority of the damage - is estimated to be open by the end of April. Durty Nellie’s has begun its journey to reopen their doors, and would like invite their friends and customers to join them as they work toward that day. The process to clean, and to mitigate smoke, water and fire damage, is much more involved than was originally had anticipated - though the owners, Mark and Jim Dolezal, are patiently and optimistically looking forward to their comeback

If you view the pictures in the above photo gallery, you can take a behind the scenes look at the restoration and renovation efforts that will ultimately bring Durty Nellie's back as a craft beer bar/destination, as well as a popular music venue that hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed - and made lifelong memories at - since it originally opened nearly 45 years ago.

Right now, everything that was in the building has been removed and is being cleaned in a secondary location - or they will be replaced. The inside of the bar, restaurant, band room and mezzanine is now being thoroughly, deep cleaned from floor to ceiling. Scaffolding has been set up throughout the entire building to begin this process. Once this has been completed, renovations and rebuilding will begin.

Durty Nellie's will continue to keep their loyal customers, friends and others who may just be meeting or learning about them, updated on their progress. One thing is for sure, Durty Nellie's is extremely excited for their ultimate comeback!
