Kids Explore STEM at Ela Township Youth Program's Spring Break Camp

Science, technology, engineering and math was the focus of a fun and education spring break exploration camp in Ela Township this week.

Elementary students from Ela Township’s Thrive After Three Youth Program participated in a fun and educational spring break exploration camp focusing on the principles of STEM–Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Throughout the week, the students were challenged to think, explore, problem solve and create through hands-on activities and experiments.

Guest instructor Sharona Javit, who specializes in teaching children that science is cool, brought her brand of “edutainment” to the Ela Community Center on March 29 for an afternoon of experiments and learning about carnivores. Donning a lab coat to transform her into “Dr. Ana Quest,” Javit had the students eager to participate in a quest to ask “why and how” things work the way they do.
