Lightning Strike May Have Caused House Fire in Affluent Barrington Hills Neighborhood

Everyone was able to safely get out of the home Thursday night and no one was injured.

No one was injured in a fire at a Barrington Hills home that may have been caused by a possible lightning strike Thursday night, according to the Barrington Courier-Review.

When firefighters arrived to the home in the 100 block of Brinker Road 10:34 p.m., they could see flames coming from the attic area and were able to move into the second floor of the home and extinguish the fire, according to the article. The fire did cause significant damage to the interior of the attic.

A damage estimate was not immediately available, according to the Daily Herald.

Several homes listed for sale in the 100 block of Brinker Road are priced around $1 million. Fire officials did not release the exact address of the home damaged by the blaze.
